The 2012 Reebok CrossFit Fitness Championships is a global series of events which will take place in France, Germany, Greece, India, Italy, Mexico, Poland, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom. The event in Sweden is organized by Reebok and CrossFit Nordic. About RCFFC & CrossFit Nordic’s Previous Competitions
This is the fourth annual CrossFit competition held by CrossFit Nordic, this time with the support and cooperation of Reebok. It will be the biggest CrossFit event so far in Northern Europe.
The first competition was held in the spring of 2009 when Rickard and Erik decided it was time to bring the swedish CrossFit community together. And so CrossFit Nordic SM Challenge 2009 was announced. We only went with individual competition this year. We occupied a parking space behind Balance Gym in Solna with which we co-hosted the event. 27 participants showed up on a sunny 4th of september! The competition was a success!
2010 it got a bit bigger… We announced the competition in may and we settled for 12-13th of november as the date in Solnahallen in Solna, Stockholm. A indoor track and field arena this time! We got more than 125 athletes signed up. Wow! An awesome event and it attracted a large crowd. We counted in more than 700 spectators during the day! This year we had individual, teams and masters.
2011 it grew even more. We had more than 300 athletes competing in individual, teams and masters classes. The event was held in Sätra Friidrottshall in Stockholm. The event was amazing and everyone involved had a good time.
About CrossFit Nordic
CrossFit Nordic was founded in 2008 by Erik Eliasson. Soon after Rickard Walén joined and we set out to spread the CrossFit message in Sweden and Scandinavia! We started posting a WOD in Swedish that now has a loyal follower base and helped in making CrossFit more accessible to the average Swede. In March of 2010 we also opened our Box in central Stockholm together with Mads Jacobsen (CrossFit HQ trainer and known CrossFit profile in Europe). We now have 220 members.
